I grew up in Fort Worth TX, moved here l8 years ago, and never looked back. I'm divorced, never had children, and have 3 sisters and a brother and a mother who is still kicking at 95. I grew up Catholic and went to parochial schools, then on to University for 4 yrs with no degree, but lots of diverse education. Smart, just not a diligent student! I love adventure, which is why I came to Colorado. I've been single for over l0 years, and find my own company is ok, but the element of 'togetherness' and soulmate is missing. I am a little reserved, somewhat shy, somewhat intraverted but can be outgoing when called to do so. I was raised in a small town with small town values. I give up my chair and open a car door for a lady. I share a 50/50 custody with my children so they are home half the time. I like horses and going camping while elk hunting on horseback is my dream. I would love to own horses someday, even knowing all the work that goes with them. Yes, I do archery hunt once a year, so you have to be ok with that. I too love domestic animals, dogs are my favorite but I have hunted fished all my life so I probably will not change this.
I work a normal job during the week, just like most people do and look forward to vacation or time off to do these things we, my kiddos and I, enjoy. I do enjoy 4-5 weeks of vacation time every year so I do want to spend more time outdoors than I currently do. I have never smoked, never done any drugs of any type, but do socially drink, a glass of wine or two makes for a comfortable evening. I was born in New Orleans, grew up in Brooklyn (maybe called a Southern Yankee), attended high school and college in South Jersey. As an educator for 40 years, I've learned a few great lessons: honesty, character, integrity and open communication are key elements to a long lasting relationship and yes, physical, mental and emotional chemistry are required (anything less just doesn't appear to work in the long run); money is a definite means to an end (travel, theatre, shopping excursions, great restaurants, etc.), but it's also a valuable resource that must be used wisely; the brain, is a powerful and most under utilized organ; learning is truly a lifelong journey.
